Carlito’s dream is to reunite with an old flame and to make enough money to escape New York altogether and he finds lawful employment running a nightclub however he is unwillingly reunited with his past thanks to old connections that refuse to go away and the naïve actions of his lawyer and best friend, David Kleinfeld, played by an awesomely afro-haired Sean Penn. Predictably, it’s not long before Carlito is fully embroiled in his former world of violence and crime – but will he manage to get away and stay away for good this time?
